Carlos Guzmán
(b. Havana, 1970)
Carlos Guzmán graduated from the Paulita Concepción Elementary Visual Arts School in 1985, and from the San Alejandro School of Fine Arts in Havana in 1989. He has taught drawing, illustration and costume design at the Superior Institute of Industrial Design and the Superior Institute of Art, both in Havana. Among his most notable solo exhibitions are The Magic of a Magic Instant (Magnetic Art Gallery, Miami, 2013); Changement des tons dans l'auvre de Guzmán (Galería Myriane, Paris, France, 2012); Carlos Guzmán (Palacio das Artes, Porto, Portugal, 2010), An Instant in Life, dedicated to the 31st International Latin American Cinema Festival (Servando Cabrera Gallery, Havana, 2009); Another Dimension (Amahoro Gallery, Saint-Martin, 2009); and Sailing Your Nights (La Acacia Gallery, Havana, 2007). He has also participated in several iterations of the Havana Biennial and Subasta Habana (Havana Auction).
