Harold Vázquez Ley
(b. Camagüey, 1974)
Harold Vázquez Ley graduated from the Superior Institute of Art in 2002, after which he joined the Insitute as a professor, teaching there until 2008. His solo exhibitions include El don de la palabra (The Gift of Gab) at the Center for the Development of Visual Arts in Havana, 2013; Caja negra (Black Box) at Salvador Cisneros Gallery in Camagüey, 2010; El momento eterno (The Eternal Moment) at the Ludwig Foundation in Havana, 2002; and AutoReverse at Julian Morales Gallery in Camagüey, 2001. His work has been included in group exhibitions such as Torbellino II (Whirlwind II) at Habana Gallery in Havana, 2011; Contemporary Cuban Photography: An Unknown Generation at Sonnenschein Gallery in Lake Forest, Illinois, 2010; Killing Time at Exit Art Gallery in New York, NY, 2007; Havana Science Fiction at the Bronx River Art Center in New York, NY, 2005; New Crop Havana at the Absolut LA International Biennial in Los Angeles, California, 2003; and La otra mirada (The Other Look) at the Center for the Development of Visual Arts in Havana, 2002. His works are part of the collections of the Museo del Barrio and the Beth Rudin DeWoody private collection, both in New York City.
