Jorge López Pardo
(b. Trinidad, 1976)
Jorge López Pardo graduated from the “Oscar Fernández Morera” Professional School of Visual Arts in Trinidad in 1996. His most outstanding solo exhibitions include Illumination at SaltFineArt Gallery in Laguna Beach, California, 2014; Caja Negra (Black Box) at Villa Manuela Gallery in Havana, 2012; Reaching Beyond at PanAmerican Art Gallery in Miami, Florida; Avistamiento (Sighting) at La Casona Gallery in Havana, 2006; El alma, como una casa sin puertas ni ventanas (The Soul, As a House With No Doors or Windows) at Habana Gallery in México, DF, Mexico, 2004; and Eco cardiograma (Echocardiogram) at the Center for the Development of Visual Arts in Havana, 1998. He has received several awards for his work, including the First Prize at the National Salon of Digital Art (Havana, 2011); First Prize at the 2nd Landscape Salon (Havana, 2002); and Prize of the 9th UNEAC Salon of Small Format (Havana, 2001). His works are part of the collections of the National Council of Visual Arts in Cuba; the Financial International Bank in Cuba; the Fundación Arte y Cultura del Pacífico in Bogota, Colombia; the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) in Long Beach, California; as well as in several private collections around the world.
